Chaos Cutting Boards

End grain in maple, walnut, and cherry

The pattern comes from repeatedly ripping and re-gluing a long-grain board, then making one final cross-grain cut to expose it. End grain is also self-healing: as the wood expands across the grain, it closes knife marks over time.
