Turbine Blade Multiphysics Simulation

Centrifugal stiffening and modal analysis across the rotor

For my graduate computational solid mechanics course, I worked with a team of 4 to build a multiphysics finite element model of a turbine blade in Abaqus and Ansys. I led the setup for centrifugal stiffening, modal analysis, and anisotropic material properties. Other team members took the lead on mesh convergence, report writing, and parts of post-processing. Deliverables included contour plots, mode shape plots, and a Campbell diagram for resonance analysis at cruise conditions.
